We are delighted to announce our new Chairman, Greg Winnett, effective 1 May 2019. This great achievement has come from many years of dedication to our firm so we thought we’d share his story below.
Greg commenced at Accru Melbourne (formally Danby Bland Provan) as an undergraduate in February 1986 the year after finishing secondary college. Primarily employed as an Audit Assistant, he worked full time and studied in the evening at Monash University to complete his business degree before undertaking the post graduate Chartered Accountant program.
Greg became a Partner of the firm in 1999. His early years were spent on audit assignments as well as business services or accounting and tax engagements as it was common to be multi-disciplined in a small practice. Greg has seen the firm grow from around 20 staff in the late eighties to almost 75 in our Melbourne office today.
He has been heavily involved in our National network and was the driving force behind the creation of the Accru brand in 2008. Greg continues to focus on Audit and Assurance services and is currently the Leading Partner in this area of our practice. He is also the Accru representative on the Board of CPA Associates International, an affiliated global group of professional services firms.
Greg and partner Jackie have four children in their late teens and love spending time cooking for the family or dining out at Melbourne’s many fabulous restaurants. Greg is also a keen sailor having grown up on the water and now sails on a Beneteau First 40 in ocean and club races out of Sandringham Yacht Club.
