I started at working at Accru as an undergraduate auditor through Swinburne University’s IBL program. Having changed from an Engineering course to Accounting, I was very excited to start my career and understand the scope of my decision to change my career path. I was not disappointed!
Working at Accru has been a multi-experienced journey. Starting out as a fresh undergraduate, my first day at work involved a quick introduction to the firm and then packing my laptop to go out to a client.
My journey led me to staying on with Accru after my IBL program, finishing my degree the following year while working part-time at Accru. The following year, I enrolled in the Chartered Accountants program and after finishing that, I enrolled in the Association of Certified Examiners (ACFE) course. Last year, I applied and obtained my Registered Company Auditor (RCA) certification.
During my time at Accru I have been given the opportunity to work as a secondment in Toronto in a firm that is internationally affiliated with Accru. The time I spent there gave me priceless overseas experience and allowed me to form life-long relationships.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients including listed and large private companies, not-for-profit organisations, schools, sporting organisations and numerous others.
There is a saying that “like attracts like”. The great culture that Accru has instilled has led to us attracting clients that are a pleasure to work with. One of our firm’s values is that “we enjoy what we do” and I couldn’t agree with that more.
The experience I have gained through my years at Accru has been invaluable and I look forward to furthering my career and experience in the years to come.
