JobKeeper and Single Touch Payroll (STP) updates
There has been an announcement about forthcoming tweaks to the JobKeeper program, which the Treasurer has released here.
Our current focus is on the imminent software and reporting matters that need to be dealt with.
If you’re in business and getting ready for JobKeeper, you’ll be aware that the first declaration and payment will be occurring from 4 May 2020 for those who have confirmed their eligibility. Most software providers have now released enhancements to make processing JobKeeper simple. If you’re using Single Touch Payroll (STP) enabled software with JobKeeper functionality, this will take care of the majority of your monthly reporting obligations.
To find out how to ensure JobKeeper is set up in your STP enabled system follow the links below to some commonly used systems:

Providers are updating the pages regularly as more information is available from the ATO. For employers that are not yet using STP based payroll, there will be an alternative reporting option through the ATO Business Portal.
In addition to the software providers, both Treasury and the ATO are still fine tuning the program and continue to update their guidance on JobKeeper as it continues to evolve.
