I joined Accru in January 2020 as an Administrative Assistant in the BAS team. After completing a Bachelor of Education and working as a Primary School teacher for four years, I decided that I wanted a career change, and Accru was the perfect opportunity. Since then, I have been promoted to Client Services Administrator in the BAS team, which involves me working in the tax team, scheduling in work and being the go-to person for administrative tasks, as well as training and mentoring the Client Services Administrator’s in other teams.
The most enjoyable aspect of my role is the varied amount of people that I communicate and collaborate with on any given day, I am often liaising with the Audit and Wealth Management teams to ensure that clients are across each of our service offerings, and there is consistency in management across the practice.
I also enjoy that no day is the same at Accru. Some days I am collating client returns, and other days I am setting up new companies for clients. The firm has helped me to develop my expertise in IT, and I was fortunate enough to champion the team that implemented the move to Cloud Based software. One of the Accru values is that “We create opportunities” and this was a fantastic opportunity that allowed me to gain an extensive knowledge of how Accru works, as well as consider how we interact with clients and implement IT software that best suits their needs.
The culture at Accru is the most positive that I have ever worked in, everyone is extremely welcoming and collaborative and a pleasure to work with. I love that my role allows me to work across all divisions and allows me to help to build the ‘one firm approach’ that Accru is so great at. As part of the administration team, I am often helping to plan social events and firm celebrations, which allow the firm and individual teams to come together to celebrate their success.
The experience and opportunities that Accru has given me have been invaluable to my career development, and I look forward to seeing what Accru has to offer in the years to come.
