Lachlan’s Story

“The most enjoyable aspect of my role is the regular communication I have with clients and has led to developing a number of strong relationships with business owners.”

I joined Accru in 2016 as a Graduate Account and was recently promoted to Assistant Manager in the Business Advisory Services Team. I completed my Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance at Swinburne University followed by a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting. The most enjoyable aspect of my role is the regular communication I have with clients and has led to developing a number of strong relationships with business owners. I also enjoy working on variety of organisations; from sole traders through to multi-million dollar companies, and knowing all of them trust and value my advice. My career highlight came about in 2020 when I received Accru’s prestigious ‘Russel Curwood award’.

I also cherish the opportunity to build and maintain the culture at Accru. As the head of the firm’s social committee – which regularly organises fun social events throughout the year –  I can help foster our strong culture within the firm. I have had the opportunity to travel to Penrith twice to take part in the ACATG training program where I networked with other professionals from across Australia and New Zealand. At Accru, I have chosen to specialise in the advisory space and headed up a number of accounting system transformations for existing and new clients alike. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been provided at Accru Melbourne and truly feel that my career is tailored to my passions and interests.
