I joined Accru Melbourne as a Junior Accountant while completing my double degree in Business and Health Science at Swinburne University, majoring in Financial Planning, Psychology, and Forensic Science. I started out in the Audit team before moving into the Business Advisory Services (BAS) team, where I worked with clients on superannuation, investments, SMSFs, shares, and property portfolios.
I first heard about Accru through a friend from university who was already working there. He spoke about the supportive culture, the opportunities for growth, and how much he genuinely enjoyed coming to work each day. That really resonated with me, and after joining, I quickly saw that everything he said was true.
One of the highlights of my time at Accru was making the move from Audit to BAS. It was a big change and a little daunting, but with the encouragement of my colleagues, it became a really rewarding experience. I gained valuable technical knowledge and was trusted with client-facing work early on, which helped build my confidence and skills.
What stood out the most during my time at Accru was the team culture. Everyone was approachable and willing to help, and there was always a sense of collaboration rather than competition. It made for an environment where I felt supported to learn, grow, and challenge myself.
My experience at Accru was a defining part of my professional journey, giving me opportunities to learn, grow, and build skills that will stay with me throughout my career.
